Welcome to Three Falls State Park

Three Falls State Park is a beautiful, serene area along the edge of Cayuga Lake—a space to enjoy nature, explore the environment, play, relax, and unwind. The park is home to many birds and wildlife that depend on this ecosystem for their survival.

We invite you to slow down, take in the scenery, observe the natural world, and enjoy the park responsibly so it can remain a safe and peaceful place for everyone.

Plan Your Visit

Park Information

The park is open dawn to dusk.
This is a carry-in / carry-out facility. Please take all trash with you when you leave.
Parking is limited to the gravel areas off the road. Please pay attention to the signs.
No potable water is available on site.
One portable toilet is available for visitor use.

Safety and Park Rules

Hiking and biking are permitted subject to signage. Open trails are marked. Closed trails are also clearly marked—please do not enter them. These areas are unsafe for visitors and sensitive for birds and wildlife.
No camping and no campfires.
No swimming.
Motorized watercraft are prohibited.
All-terrain vehicles (ATVs) and other off-road vehicles are not permitted.
Individual event booking is not possible at this time.

Park Safety

Three Falls State Park is patrolled by the Seneca County Sheriff's Department and the New York State Park Police.

Donations

Financial contributions are warmly welcomed and will help support planning, conservation, and future improvements to the park. If you would like to contribute, you can:

Send a check made out to Three Falls LDC and mail it to Town of Ulysses Town Hall, 10 Elm St, Trumansburg, NY 14886 (opens in new tab). Please mark the check clearly: “A donation to the general funds for the Three Falls State Park.”
If you would like to earmark your donation for a dedicated purpose, please contact us directly at clerk@trumansburg-ny.gov.

At this time, while the local municipalities continue working through the park's conceptual plan, raising funds, and developing infrastructure, we are not able to accept non-monetary donations such as bird boxes, compost bins, benches, or other facilities. This helps ensure that future improvements are safe, well-placed, and consistent with the park's long-term plans.

How it started

Our Story

In 2021, when the Baden Powell Council of Boy Scouts of America announced their intention to sell the beloved Camp Barton property, our communities came together with a shared vision: to preserve this treasured lakefront property for public use.

Working closely with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historical Preservation, the Three Falls LDC was established to facilitate the property's transformation into Three Falls State Park.

This collaboration ensures that future generations will continue to enjoy the natural beauty and recreational opportunities that have made this location special for over a century.
